Instagram Feature Take a Break Is There

The new feature is already there. It rolls out around the world, nudging the youth to enable different features. It is still optional for users.

While “Take a Break” Instagram’s service spreads into different countries, there are numerous expectations for it. The feature offers users to create a reminder to get a pause from watching social networks. It was created to help children to take a pause from non-stop scrolling. This is an optional service that can be enabled individually. The new feature is an extension to the set of tools Instagram offers for children’s health. There is already a Daily Limit available for everyone who wants to limit their time in the app. Instagram made collaboration with the We The Young platform to promote the feature. Their campaign is called Break Zaroori Hai.

Adam Mosseri, Instagram’s chief, in his latest announcement of the feature in November said that the major goal of it is to remind people to put everything on pause and get a rest from the social network. After users have spent the indicated amount of time in the app, it sends a notification. While it is a helpful tool that may be beneficial for our health, this feature is optional. It is up to you how much you want to spend time in the app without break as well. You can choose 10, 20, or 30-minute of active time without reminders.

Take a Break is still in the beta version. There are several months of active testing before it will be available to everyone. You can test the new reminders in the UK, US, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, or Ireland. This feature is shown for anyone who spends too much time in the app, no matter if you are enabled or not.
